Lisa Rinna drew a firm line between Hollywood and politics when an interview turned to Spencer Pratt's potential future as the mayor of Los Angeles. Rinna, 62, argued the country has already "done that" when it comes to reality stars crossing into politics. While "The Real Housewives" star explained she wasn't sure who she would be voting for, Rinna revealed she's not interested in seeing another reality TV takeover of public affairs. "Not a reality star, though," Rinna told Variety at the American Music Awards on Monday. "I'm sorry. I love him, but we’ve already done that. We’re not going to do that again. "[He] could be," Rinna conceded. "He's got power behind him, it seems. But I don't know." The "Days of Our Lives" star confessed she’s puzzled by the growing interest surrounding Pratt among Hollywood circles. "You got me," she said. "Because listen, I’m a reality person. You wouldn’t want me as mayor, really. I mean, let’s just face it, I love him. I think he’s amazing. I just think we did that." "Let’s have somebody that’s already been mayor — the mayor of San Jose, or whoever," she explained, bringing up Matt Mahan. "I like him," Rinna noted. "I like him for governor." Rinna's comments were met with backlash online. "This Spencer Pratt thing has just exposed Hollywood for the clown show it is," one X user commented. "All these celebrities telling the people to ignore how bad LA is and to just vote the way they want them to." "Lisa Rinna is the perfect example of how disconnected our elites have become," another added. "She didn't lose her home in the fires. She's not fighting insurance companies or watching her neighborhood get destroyed. Yet she's out here telling West LA who we should vote for while pushing the same career politicians who've failed us for years." Another wrote, "Pratt is far from perfect as a candidate... but what's the alternative? People of LA can not keep the status quo. Your city is devolving into a lawless hell hole. You need to try something different." Pratt, who lost his home in the deadly 2025 Palisades wildfire, announced he was running for mayor Jan. 7. The Justice Department sued the University of California, Los Angeles, on Monday, accusing the university of allowing Jewish students to face a "hostile educational environment" during months of anti-Israel protests and encampment unrest that left students assaulted, blocked from campus buildings and fearful of attending class. "The occupiers largely succeeded in their goal of making the heart of campus Judenrein — or at least free of Jews who did not share their desire to annihilate Israel," the lawsuit stated. In the 53-page complaint, the Justice Department accused UCLA of violating Title VI protections by showing "deliberate indifference" toward discrimination against Jewish students, allegations that could jeopardize federal funding. "UCLA was deliberately indifferent to the suffering of its Jewish and Israeli students and declined to take meaningful action to protect them," DOJ said. TRUMP ADMINISTRATION DEMANDS $1B SETTLEMENT FROM UCLA OVER CAMPUS ANTISEMITISM CLAIMS The lawsuit is part of a broader Trump administration effort to crack down on antisemitism tied to anti-Israel protests that spread across college campuses following Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attacks on Israel DOJ alleged that UCLA's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion office "routinely ignored" more than 100 complaints of antisemitic harassment, which ranged from Jewish students being blocked from campus buildings to being beaten, pepper-sprayed and slapped with sticks. The Justice Department argued that the university's "decision to ignore" these complaints violated Title VI, suggesting that the school could lose federal funding and pay restitution to the government. The lawsuit’s central allegation focuses on UCLA’s handling of the anti-Israel protest encampment that formed on campus in late April 2024 and lasted about a week. At the time, anti-Israel encampments popped up on dozens of college campuses across the country in response to escalating tensions in the Gaza war. The conduct within the encampment prompted the Trump administration to create an antisemitism task force that visited UCLA. The anti-Israel encampment was set up on April 25, 2024, sparking complaints that protesters formed "human phalanxes" to block Jewish students from accessing buildings and other parts of campus. The lawsuit also alleges that one Jewish student was kicked to the ground and knocked unconscious. CALIFORNIA SHERIFF SLAMS 'MERITLESS' UCLA STUDENT LAWSUIT AGAINST POLICE WHO DISMANTLED ANTI-ISRAEL ENCAMPMENT Police did not clear the encampment until May 2, 2024, during what was described as a chaotic scene in which anti-Israel protesters clashed with officers using pepper spray and fire extinguishers. Confrontations at UCLA between anti-Israel protesters and police continued as six UCLA police officers were injured on June 10, 2024, during an attempt to create a new encampment. UCLA PAYS BIG SETTLEMENT OVER 'JEW EXCLUSION ZONE' DISCRIMINATION CLAIMS FROM STUDENTS Even after voicing concerns over the violence seen during the spring 2024 anti-Israel protests, UCLA school safety officers were instructed to prioritize "de-escalation" rather than aggressively enforcing school policies during future anti-Israel protests that sprang up in 2025 and 2026. At one Students for Justice of Palestine demonstration held on Oct. 7, 2025, officers stood by and did not engage even though some of the participants were breaking the campus' "no masking rule." An officer was asked why they weren't enforcing the rules, and he replied by saying he "not that high up on that totem pole" to make that call. The lawsuit heavily cited the findings of UCLA's own task force in the lawsuit to back up its claims that school leadership failed to properly protect Jewish students on campus. "Indeed, UCLA’s Task Force found that 'throughout most of 2023-2024, campus leadership repeatedly decided not to enforce federal law, state law, and University and campus rules,' 'resulting in failure to protect the Constitutional rights,' of Jews on campus," the lawsuit stated. The lawsuit cited a poll conducted of Jewish students finding that 59.6% of students "reported spending less time on campus due to antisemitism and anti-Israeli bias" and and that 41.4% considered leaving the school because of antisemitism. The Trump administration’s lawsuit comes just months after the Justice Department filed a separate case against UCLA in February, accusing the university of antisemitic discrimination against Jewish and Israeli employees. The sudden death of Kyle Busch has drawn attention to a rare but devastating medical progression: when pneumonia escalates into fatal sepsis. An ER doctor spoke with Fox News Digital about how sepsis can trigger a rapid health decline. "Sepsis is actually not a specific disease or diagnosis, but rather the syndrome that occurs when the body has certain abnormal findings and a presumed infection," said Dr. Kenneth J. Perry, a South Carolina-based emergency medicine physician. HOW PNEUMONIA PROGRESSES TO SEPSIS: DOCTORS EXPLAIN AFTER KYLE BUSCH'S DEATH The markers of sepsis include elevated white blood cell counts, a high or low temperature, and elevated heart and respiratory rates, according to Perry. Because of this, a patient with pneumonia is often already technically septic by definition. While many people assume a worsening infection means bacteria are multiplying uncontrollably, it often has more to do with the body’s internal environment. "It is often not the bacteria itself that is causing the specific decline," Perry said. "In most cases, it is a cascade of inflammatory processes that are set in motion by the infection." When this inflammation spirals out of control, the body moves from having a manageable infection into severe sepsis. This is when otherwise healthy people can rapidly deteriorate. SURGE IN WALKING PNEUMONIA AFFECTS THESE HIGH-RISK GROUPS, SAYS DR. MARC SIEGEL "The concerning thing that can happen with any individual ... is that sepsis can then lead to low blood pressure, worsening vital signs and organ damage," Perry said. "As multiple organs fail, it becomes very difficult for the medical team to treat and can sometimes lead ultimately to death." It is very unlikely to have pneumonia and not have any symptoms, according to Perry. Early signs can mimic a severe flu, including fevers, chills, a productive cough, and chest or back pain in cases where the lung is infected. When sepsis begins to take hold, time becomes the most critical factor. "We have known for a number of years that early antibiotic therapy is beneficial in the treatment of sepsis," Perry said. EXCLUSIVE: The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is blasting Massachusetts sanctuary policies after ICE agents arrested an illegal immigrant accused of beating a man with a baseball bat — days after local officials allegedly released him without notifying federal authorities. Dhaval Amratbhai Patel, an illegal immigrant from India, was arrested by the Worcester Police Department on May 16 and is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The police report notes Patel got into an argument with a customer at the liquor store where he worked, which escalated into Patel grabbing a baseball bat and striking the man, according to DHS. MIGRANT ACCUSED OF VIOLENT CRIMES ARRESTED BY ICE AFTER MASSACHUSETTS COURT REFUSED TO HONOR DETAINER Officials said sanctuary politicians in Massachusetts did not cooperate with ICE law enforcement, and Patel was released from jail without notification to immigration authorities. ICE arrested Patel two days later on May 18, according to DHS. "This illegal alien from India thought he could go around beating people with a baseball bat. Sanctuary politicians released him from jail after his arrest for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon," said DHS acting assistant secretary Lauren Bis. "Sanctuary politicians must stop choosing to release criminals into our communities and work with DHS to get criminals out of country." "By refusing to cooperate with ICE law enforcement, sanctuary politicians are putting the safety of their citizens at risk," Bis added. Joy Behar announced on Tuesday that she would be taking a short hiatus from ABC's "The View," during the show's "Behind the Table" podcast. The show's producer, Brian Teta, said during the podcast, "This is your last podcast for a little bit, because next week you're not going to be here." Behar said the show had made her "bank" the weekend episodes, and told Teta that he should reveal why she wasn't going to be on the show during the week. The liberal co-host revealed she is going to Europe to perform in her play in London and Paris.
